Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Who is Mighty Fit for?

Mighty Fit is for anyone feeling their age. We have clients in their 30s to 90s. If you are noticing shifts in how you feel and move, your energy level, and your stamina, consider joining us.

We begin with a conversation to learn all about you; our premise is that you are the expert on your body. From there, we design a custom program that addresses your interests, goals, injuries, time availability, and desires.

We know how many choices there are and that figuring out what will work for you can be hard. Part of the beauty of joining a small, passionate fitness program is that you know who you’re working with, and they know you. You get a personal experience that has a greater impact on achieving your goals.

  • What if I am feeling out of shape? Can I sign up if I am a beginner?

Absolutely! Now is a great time to start. We love a beginner mindset. Mighty Fit will introduce you to fitness concepts and give you what you need to get started with confidence. You will be encouraged to work at your own pace. We always offer modifications to make an exercise more doable.

Do let us know if you have any injuries or illnesses that impact what you can and cannot do. Your safety comes first.

  • What if I am recovering from an injury or have chronic health concerns?

If you have an injury, please be sure to get a medical clearance before exercising. If you are in recovery and your doctor approves of you beginning an exercise program, tell us about your injury and any resulting limitations. If you have been in physical therapy, we have found it helpful to have a conversation with your therapist and get a copy of your exercises.

  • Where should I start?

Book a call with Andrea. She appreciates the chance to get to know you and learn about your experiences and goals. You may also try any of our classes on a drop-in basis.

  • How many sessions should I plan on?

When you sign up for Mighty Fit Aging in Motion, we will create a custom program for you. We create workouts for up to 6 days and leave it to you to tell us what schedule works for you. We request that you commit to at least three days of training per week. You will likely find you build strength and become more interested in more days as you build strength and stamina. We plan on one day of rest as rest and recovery is a key part of working out!

  • Do you offer in person sessions?

Most of our offerings are remote so that we can reach people where they are. That said, we are located on Mount Desert Island in Maine and offer in-person classes and personal training at the Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor. Curious about it? Ask us.

  • Do I need a gym membership or specific equipment?

Mighty Fit designs daily workouts for you to do at home or in a gym. If you are at home, we will plan around the equipment you own and may ask you to pick up a few affordable items. If you plan to work out at a gym, your program will be designed for the available equipment.

  • Will I get as good of a workout at home as I would in a gym?

100%. We can recreate any exercise you would do in the gym. Our creativity and fitness challenges will surprise you. Plus, you get to use your shower and save on gym membership.

  • If I train at home, how much space do I need?

Picture a yoga mat. The typical size is 24” by 68”. If you are tall or wide, you can get longer or wider mats. That’s all the room you need for a great workout.
